It was a gorgeous wedding day for The RC Events Team. A sweet, sunny outdoor ceremony at Newland Barn in Huntington Beach followed by a lively reception. Right as dinner had finished being served, the DJ asked our Lead Coordinator for the prize bouquet for a reception game. There was no mention of this bouquet by our bride or the floral vendor… these things happen at events. Miscommunication happens! So, we turned to our handy-dandy wedding day emergency kit.

In under five minutes we managed to create a simple bouquet from leftover cake florals, scissors, string, and ribbon. But, this wasn’t the only time we had been challenged to MacGyver an item out of scraps. Day-of disasters happen and are real possibilities we must be aware of, which is why there is a demand for professionals who put out fires (aka WEDDING PLANNERS).

Nothing Goes Perfectly As Planned

This list of items has gotten our team through over 14 years of weddings and events. As a coordinator, there is no way to know what is going to take place at any given event. You are working with people. Nobody is perfect, which means nothing goes perfectly as planned; ever. All you can do is prepare for the worst situations you can think of and handle them the RC way, with kindness and grace.
