The Perfect Wedding Anniversary Gift For Her At Every Decade

Your wedding planner is right by your side during the planning process and your big day. But, after the cake has been cut and the last song has played, we go our separate ways. Husbands, this little piece of wedding anniversary gifting advice is for you!

Your first anniversary gift can be anything from a weekend getaway, to a pair of designer heels. We’re sure you could think of a list of gifts that would make your wife’s heart melt. But, what would set your tenth and twentieth wedding anniversary gifts apart from the rest? All you need to do is think like Nicholas Sparks and take our advice. This list of gift ideas will help you make your wife gush at every decade.

Wedding Anniversary Gift Ideas For Her

10 Years of Marriage

Take her on a dream vacation. Your wife might like hiking or city life… wherever her dream spot is, TAKE HER THERE! After 10 years of marriage you have experienced many firsts as a couple.  There is something to be said about how precious quality time is. The best gift you could give her is one where you spend time alone, experiencing something new. For your tenth anniversary, experience yet another first together.

20 Years of Marriage

Make a statement with jewelry. There are thousands of couples who view their twentieth anniversary as a good time to renew their vows. If you and your wife are considering reliving that powerful and uniting moment, make it extra special by giving her an additional band. Of course, you do not need to renew vows to purchase something sparkly. A necklace and matching earrings or, an eye-catching bracelet are just as special. Statement jewelry that fits your wife’s style will tell her that you pay attention to what she likes!

30 Years of Marriage

Complete a 30 days of gifting challenge! (a gift every day for your entire anniversary month) Start small. By this time, you will have given your loved one nearly every variation of a wedding anniversary gift. Go back to the basics. What little pieces of information about her and your love story are stuck in your memory? If you remember what she was drinking strawberry daiquiris on your honeymoon, take her on a date to get one. Or, if she stole your heart on the dance floor  and you remember the song, buy her that CD. You could even turn that song on at home and share a dance. The 30 days of gifting challenge is a simple way to remind her that you value all of the in-between moments you two have shared.

40 Years of Marriage

Learn something new. It is totally normal for spouses not to share the same passions. One of you might enjoy an art show, while the other would prefer to go boating. Pay attention to what your wife talks about doing but never really does. Or, give her the option to choose an experience that she would like to share with you. Quality time is key!

50 Years of Marriage

Have a party! Invite your family and friends to celebrate the love you have shared for half of a century! Hire a planner and surprise her. Or, let her take the reigns. Whatever the situation, big or small, you two deserve to have a night dedicated to your love. To end it with a bang, go all out and make a toast to your wife. Whatever you say, she’ll love it.

Anniversaries will vary year to year, marriages will face bad days. So, take advantage of the one day out of the year that the two of you gave so much meaning to! It is important to make your person smile and reminisce on your love story together. All clichés aside, a woman loves feeling seen and understood. Give gifts that show her you still know her soul, even after all of life’s changes.

Your Must Have Wedding Day Emergency Kit Checklist by RC Events Team

It was a gorgeous wedding day for The RC Events Team. A sweet, sunny outdoor ceremony at Newland Barn in Huntington Beach followed by a lively reception. Right as dinner had finished being served, the DJ asked our Lead Coordinator, Julianne for the prize bouquet for a reception game. There was no mention of this bouquet by our bride or the floral vendor… these things happen at events. Miscommunication happens! So, we turned to our handy-dandy wedding day emergency kit.

In under five minutes we managed to create a simple bouquet from leftover cake florals, scissors, string, and ribbon. But, this wasn’t the only time we had been challenged to MacGyver an item out of scraps. Day-of disasters happen and are real possibilities we must be aware of, which is why there is a demand for professionals who put out fires (aka WEDDING PLANNERS).

The RC Events Team carries an emergency kit to every event we coordinate. In fact, most event coordinators do! It is a professional planner’s nature to consider every possible emergency and develop strategies to handle them. Also in our repertoire, checklists! We developed the Must Have Wedding Day Emergency Kit Checklist for you so you can be sure you’ll weather any wedding day storm.

DIY bride or a budding wedding and event coordinator; this emergency kit checklist will aid you in preparing for any day-of crisis.

Sabrina and Raul’s Wedding (With An Edge) At The Mission Inn Riverside

Saturday, March 9 was a double-wedding day for the Rebecca Calagna Events team. Half of the team went to Temecula Creek Inn for an midday, outdoor “I do.” The other half executed Sabrina and Raul’s wedding with an edge at the Mission Inn, Riverside. The couple waited 21 years to be wed and did so in a way that was true to their love story. From the candle-lit ceremony in the chapel, to the intimate reception in the Spanish Art Gallery; this celebration of love was artsy and edgy in its personal touches by the couple.

The Guest Favors

The RC Events Team began the day by assembling guest favors. Sabrina and Raul chose to share their love for literature with their guests by giving them a book such as, Romeo and Juliet, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Stardust to take home. Inside was a custom skeleton bride and groom bookmark adorned with a tassel of a random shade. This made for a festive display against the stained-glass windows of the Spanish Art Gallery.

The Florals & The Cake

As vendors began to arrive, the art-covered ballroom began to take shape of the couple’s dream day. Posh Peony provided excellently crafted deep red, navy, blush, and cream florals for the chapel and table centerpieces. Also, the geometric-designed cake from Cucamonga Bakery made for a great focal point at the bottom of the stairs entering the ballroom.

The Guest Sign- In

Another unique touch added by the couple was their sign-in table. Rather than providing a guest book, the Encarnacion’s had their guests sign a jet-black guitar with gold and silver sharpies. The guitar case was crafted to detail the wedding timeline and stood on top of the sign-in table. Later, the case was laid on its side next to the sign-in guitar and was used as a small gift and card holder.

The Dress

Of all the details, the most awe-inspiring was Sabrina’s dress. She worked with Bowen Dryden to create a bespoke gown that screamed her name. Her gown was a soft, dusty-blue color adorned by embroidery. The stitched vines, flowers, and birds laid perfectly along the bodice and dramatic sleeves. A long train, a light grey ombre veil by The Veiled Beauty, and a pair of flashy, black-velvet booties completed the look.

The Ceremony

To top it all off, Sabrina and Raul followed a Celtic handfasting ritual where the two made a display of their spiritual union by literally tying the knot in front of their guests. This sweet gesture filled the gorgeous, golden chapel with love.

A wedding at the Mission Inn, Riverside is always elegant. However, Sabrina and Raul’s personal touches added an edgy twist to usual wedding celebration expectations. Their big day was just as unique as their love story.

Ashleyann and Raymond’s Wedding

Elegant and historical are two words that come to mind when describing Ashleyann and Raymond’s special day.  They were married at the beautiful and antique Mission Inn.  The combination of the old chapel and choice of white and green color palette was a match made in heaven.  From the beautiful heartfelt ceremony to the amazing hanging florals in the reception, Ashleyann and Raymond’s wedding was a night to remember.

The details of the ceremony were to die for.  Their choice of florals perfectly accented the architecture of the Mission Inn.  The flower arrangements simply added and enhanced the details of the chapel.  The details perfectly highlighted the couples sweet I Dos.  Just look at the gorgeous ceremony and of course the gorgeous couple!

Their reception was absolutely lavish and glamorous.  The details were picture perfect from the beautiful place settings with hints of gold to adorable signage on the guest book table.  The white florals with lots of greenery tied the whole room together perfectly with a sweet romantic touch.

One of our favorite details was the florals hanging from the chandeliers.  This was such a unique and romantic touch that pulled all the details together.

Congratulations to this sweet couple, we wish them a long and happy life together!
